Full-Time Sonographer/Ultrasonographer

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Review patient’s medical history and provider’s instructions. Prepare medical equipment for procedures. Select appropriate equipment settings. Explain procedure to patient and records any medical history that may be relevant to the condition being viewed. Directs the patient to move into positions that will provide the best view. 
  • Spread gel on skin to aid transmission of sound waves.
  • Operate special equipment to direct non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves into areas of patient’s body.
  • Select images per IAC protocols, take measurements, calculate values, and analyze results in preliminary reports with/for the provider.
  • Participate in IAC quality assurance meetings
  • Keeps patient records
  • Adjust/maintain equipment
  • Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies/procedures

Education:

  • High school diploma. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in sonography from accredited school (preferred).

Experience: 

  • Previous vascular/venous ultrasound experience preferred but not necessary.

Other Requirements:

  • Hold a current certification to practice in the state of GA.
  • Have (or pursuing) venous/vascular certification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS)
  • Maintain continuing education credits as mandated through credentialing agency
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the ICAVL lab and function within protocol
