Sclerotherapy: The Gold Standard
Sclerotherapy remains the most popular treatment for spider veins on the legs, and for good reason—it’s effective. During this procedure, we use microneedles to inject a specialized solution directly into the affected veins. The solution irritates the vein lining, causing it to collapse and eventually be reabsorbed by the body. Over time, these treated spider veins fade or disappear entirely.
Treatment sessions are quick, typically lasting 20-30 minutes, depending on the number of veins needing treatment. Most patients report only experiencing minimal discomfort during the procedure, describing it as a slight pinching sensation. Sclerotherapy treatments do not require anesthesia, and patients usually resume normal activities immediately afterward.
